Once the weight of the canvas, medium like gesso, and other additives is subtracted from the total weight of the completed artwork, the weight of the pure paint can be measured. This weight is then translated into the artwork itself. The price of this work is determined by the price of gold equal to the weight of the paint.
In the form of a gold bar-shaped canvas, medium and paint are applied. The total amount of paint accumulated on the canvas is measured using an electronic scale. By subtracting the initial weight of the canvas and medium from the final weight of the completed artwork, the weight of the pure paint can be determined.
The artwork’s weight is converted into a numerical value, and this weight is then translated into the current gold market price at the time of exhibition to determine the artwork’s price.
